HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS

The Handwriting Without Tears approach provides developmentally suitable multisensory strategies for early writing. Occupational therapists at Medical Support Services are trained to help patients develop the skills they need to print words, sentences, and paragraphs. Some of the common issues addressed when taking this approach are a child's grip on the writing utensil, letter and number recognition, and capital and number formation. The occupational therapist will guide the patient through this program with the end goal of handwriting to become an automatic and comfortable skill.
